Sustainability

Familux Resorts is not sustainable (enough).

Our commitment goes beyond mere lip service – we are dedicated to driving real change.

Our sustainability goals are ambitious, and we strive every day to achieve and implement them. Sustainable practices are now deeply embedded in our corporate culture. That’s why we have taken numerous measures to minimise our environmental footprint, and we are proud of what we have accomplished so far.

Certification

GreenSign is a quality seal that identifies hotel operations committed to sustainability. Its sustainability programme follows the principle of SIMPLE + TRANSPARENT + SUSTAINABLE and is awarded by an institute dedicated to sustainable development in the hospitality sector.

All Familux Resorts are now GreenSign certified! This marks a significant milestone for us, even though our journey is not yet complete.

“In the hospitality industry, sustainability is not an option but a responsibility – to protect our environment and preserve it for future generations.”

Certification catalogue

The GreenSign Hotel Standard, recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), encompasses over 100 criteria. These are divided into eight key areas and address not only the environmental aspect of sustainability but also its social and economic dimensions.

To the catalogue

Management & Communication

A sustainable corporate approach is founded on a system of values and a responsible shaping of the future, achieved through effective management and transparent communication in dialogue with all stakeholders.

Environment

The environmental pillar focuses on the ecological aspects of energy, water, and waste. Strategies and measures aimed at reducing resource consumption are of vital importance, as they have a significant impact on our environmental footprint.

Biodiversity & Cultural Heritage

This area highlights the importance of protecting and promoting local biodiversity as well as preserving cultural heritage. Sustainable practices in this field aim to safeguard natural habitats and support the cultural identity of a region, fostering a respectful and responsible interaction with both nature and local traditions.

Purchasing

This area focuses on sustainable procurement practices. It encourages the selection of environmentally friendly, ethically sourced, and locally produced goods and services. Responsible purchasing not only supports regional economies but also reduces environmental impact and promotes transparency and accountability across the supply chain.

Regionality & Mobility

Regionality & Mobility

This area emphasises the importance of supporting regional products, services, and partnerships, thereby strengthening the local economy and cultural identity. At the same time, it promotes sustainable mobility solutions for guests and staff—such as public transport, cycling infrastructure, or e-mobility—to reduce emissions and ease the burden on the environment.

Quality Management & Sustainable Development

Quality assurance and its ongoing development are key to securing the future – through satisfied and motivated employees, loyal guests, and a relationship of trust with all stakeholders.
This area centres on continuous improvement processes and the integration of sustainability into long-term business strategies. It involves setting measurable goals, monitoring progress, and ensuring that sustainability is embedded in everyday operations. By combining quality management with a forward-looking approach, businesses can enhance performance while contributing to sustainable development.

More about our stakeholders

Familux Resorts have therefore developed “NewPay” to promote fair remuneration, support performance, and strengthen the local community. The goal is to create a positive working environment and enhance the quality of service provided.

Social Responsibility

Social engagement is a fundamental pillar of sustainable development. It embodies a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to shaping a future-proof environment—harmoniously integrating ecological, social, and economic responsibility.

Economic Responsibility

The economic stability of a business is a key pillar that ensures both qualitative and quantitative growth. The collection, evaluation, and management of financial and economic data reflect a strong sense of responsibility—enabling the company to meet external demands and expectations from guests, investors, and the media alike.
